Weatherization is the practice of protecting a building and its interior from the elements, particularly from sunlight, precipitation, and wind, and of modifying a building to reduce energy consumption and optimize energy efficiency.
What is Diagnostic Testing?
Diagnostic Testing is a group of tests that help to determine a home’s energy efficiency, whether it be testing the home’s pressure boundary with a blower door test, or finding cold areas and voids with infrared imaging. We use these tools with building science to determine what your home or business needs.
What is AE/H?
AE/H is Air Exchange per Hour. AE/H is a calculation that is used to determine how permeable your home’s pressure boundary is. It’s just a fancy way of testing how “tight” your home is, so we can estimate how much potential heat loss there is.
How do energy audits work?
Energy Audits give insight into the performance of the building, once conducted, your advisor will give you information and help direct to programs that will help you acheive energy efficiency.
What does R-Value mean?
R-Value is the measurement of resistance of heat transfer of the insulation. Every “R” is about 3.1 per inch. So a 6.25″ piece of Fiber Glass insulation is an R19.
